LACC Volunteers and an AKA Tree Planting

05/20/23: Members of Loudon Avenue Christian Church (LACC) spent part of their annual day of service at the Carver Garden. They helped finish laying a new layer of wood chips along the paths in the orchard area, and later helped lay the final border landscape fabric at the 8th & Gilmer site.

The LACC group then assisted members of the Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) sorority in planting a new red dogwood tree as part of their national campaign. We had hoped to plant this tree on Earth Day, but was postponed due to the threat of severe weather that day.
