Miranda Poe contracted as new Urban Agricultural Trainee for One Valley

03/10/25: Miranda graduated from the University of North Carolina in 2020 with a BS in Health and Wellness Promotion and also has volunteer experience with a broad variety of horticultural, food, health and social justice work, among with a bunch of other skills that made her a good fit for this position. In this position, Miranda will work with both of our established One Valley community gardens and an educational outreach program with our partner, CommUNITY ARTSreach, in the off-season. She will also apprentice one-day a week with Garden Variety Harvests. Work performed under this contract is intended to assist her both in learning the trade and in pursuing future opportunities as an independent urban farmer. She will be trained, supervised, and mentored by current garden personnel and will also work closely with community volunteers, and develop a personal marketing plan.
